Reigniting Your Faith in the Face of Hypocrisy and Religiosity

“I had a blast, Mom!” My 10-year-old daughter told me with a radiant smile after coming home from a week away at summer camp.

After describing her week, the next words out of her mouth caught me off guard. “Can we go to church?” She asked me, eyes wide in anticipation.

I knew the camp that she went to with a friend was a Christian camp. But I was perplexed, to say the least. We weren’t a church family and didn’t talk much about God.

I was raised Catholic, so I had my first communion, went to Catechism (CCD), and was confirmed. I got my ticket punched and called it a day.
