The Opioid Crisis that’s sweeping the country is disturbing. So many people are getting sucked into the quagmire of addiction. But if I were to try and find a silver lining it is this: the public image of addiction is changing, becoming more pragmatic and compassionate. Instead of labeling the addict a waste-case, weak, irresponsible loser we are accepting them for what they really are, friends and family in trouble.
