The Kai Tak West Contract of the Central Kowloon Route (CKR) was undertaken by Gammon Construction Limited (GCL) starting early 2018 with a value of HK$ 6.24 Billion. This section comprises of the construction a cut-and-cover tunnel spanning 370m underwater under Kowloon Bay with temporary reclamation and cofferdam, a 160m long tunnel in Ma Tau Kok in the western end, a 125m long depressed road and a 170m long underpass adjacent to Kai Tak Sports Park in the development area.
