Launch Pad is the main software development club on campus. Members are split into teams, which are led by a tech lead and work on projects together during weekly meetings. Meetings are Saturday 11–3, and members get to work on software in a team-based, industry-like environment. Previous projects include a cryptocurrency called Cumulus, a speaker diarisation library using machine learning, several Android and iOS apps, and many more! You’ll also learn Git and Agile in addition to whatever software and technologies you work with. The club hosts workshops as well, open to all students throughout the year, which are announced on Launch Pad’s social media. Past workshops include “Intro to Web Development” and “A Developer’s Guide to Docker”. While the club is primarily technical, we also have strategy (marketing/sponsorship/PM/etc) and design (UI/UX) positions!
