I am an individual who carries at least four cultures in my DNA. African, South American, German and Russian. Meaning I would identify as a multiracial person. I have to say, growing up, as multiracial kid was fine until the age of let’s say twelve. Then I became pretty aware about how much I actually stand out all the time. Big afro — textured hair, blue eyes but light skin. My accent was always all over the place as I moved around a lot, so even that part, I could not really place to one of my heritages to get the „external approval “. I could also see the differences when I moved in predominantly white spaces then more diverse ones. This research and my own personal viewpoint is only a little piece of what one or another multiracial person might encounter. We all different so are our experiences too so let’s not forget this.
