Let’s go back 15 years in time. Would you have believed me if I’d told you, “Hey, in 15 years, Apple, the iPhone company will be the world’s most valuable company. Oh, and Will Smith will slap Chris Rock in the Oscars.”
Honestly, I would’ve believed the slap thingy, but not the iPhone nonsense. I mean, it’s just a phone. In that year, Exxon had the top spot, and their market was the oil market. Phones? Really?
Let’s try to do this nowadays — If I tell you that SpaceX is going to be the most valuable company in 2050, what does that make you think?
From my experience, readers will have their answers split into a two things:
- “Umm, yes, I totally believe it. I mean, it’s one of the biggest SpaceTech pioneers.”
- “Nope, this is nonsense. SpaceX has a current valuation of $150 billion. Apple has a valuation of $2.88 trillion. There’s no comparison.”
But it’s not as unbelievable as a phone company becoming the world’s most valuable company, is it? It’s SpaceTech, for crying out loud.
It’s the endless vast that we know nothing about. It’s one of life’s greatest wonders. But let’s not turn this into a Matthew McConaughey movie.
