Romance Among the Roman Ruins

It feels like only yesterday when I crashed out my chair in the historical city of Bath, and plummeted into the heart-stopping narrative of an unexpected romance.

It was a splendid day in this genteel Georgian city, teeming with the echoes of the ancients and the whisperings of timeless romance. The architecture of Bath literally breaths history, from the honey-coloured stone facades to the archaic Roman baths that dared to tell a tale older than time itself.

My initial intention had been to engage myself with the city’s antiquity, to experience first-hand the allure that had drawn the likes of Julius Caesar’s contemporaries. As I wheeled around the sacred spring of the Roman Baths, enthusiastically scribbling notes and pictures in my sketchbook, little did I know that an encounter of a more personal nature was waiting to unfold.
