Resonance of Remnants

A homely abode once created through so much love infused with beads of sweat,
families moved in, smiling, their harmonies weaving through the sanctuary’s walls,
the wet footsteps of kids left impermanence but fondness every time,
until the sun's rays rubbed them off,
the house became a home humming with life’s cyclic moments.

But what did happen?
as the wheels of modernisation seeped through the souls of many,
the home shattered from closely knit families to nuclear setups,
the house felt a tremble in its spine, knowing something dark was brewing,
that sparrow which kept coming on the windowsills stopped visiting,
that Ivy flower caressing the walls slowly disappeared from view,
the end of an era slowly visible through the fog,
slowly visible through the smog.
