My project aims to tell a story through a short cartoon that recounts and reflects on the experiences that helped me wrap my head around the inaccessibility of the public transit system in Toronto.
There are some details that I omitted from the story to tell it more efficiently:
My high school friend, Maddy, was diagnosed with a condition called juvenile idiopathic arthritis when she was very young. This condition weakens her joints and makes it difficult for her to walk long distances. She uses a wheelchair, a scooter or walks depending on how her joints are feeling.
