Discharge Instructions

Diagnosis:

  • Vertigo
  • Hypertension

Medications:

  • Meclizine: Take 25 mg by mouth 3 times a day (TID) as needed for dizziness.

Care Instructions:

  • Move slowly when changing positions to help reduce dizziness.
  • Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel dizzy.
  • Monitor your blood pressure at home, if possible, and record the results to discuss with your doctor.

Follow-Up:

  • Follow up with your Primary Care Physician (PCP) this week to discuss your blood pressure management and address any ongoing symptoms.

Reasons to Return to the Emergency Department:

  • New or worsening neurological symptoms (such as weakness, numbness, difficulty speaking, or severe headache)
  • Persistent or worsening dizziness despite medication
  • Chest pain, shortness of breath, or sudden vision changes
