Ventura Village Harbor and Ventura Yacht Club brings sailing history to life with a visit from descendants reliving the Polynesian explorers maneuvering across the Pacific Ocean by canoe. The Hokule’a voyage canoe uses traditional wayfinding techniques without modern instruments.
The modern-day reenactors sailed most recently from Morro Bay and arrived this past Wednesday and will remain at the Yacht Club on Saturday and Sunday, Oct 22.
Canoe tours will take place Sat. 9am to 11am and 1pm to 5pm.
