Plato or Aristotle. If you are a fan of one, you may have a hard time compenetrating with the other. Growing up, I felt Plato had captured the essence of what philosophy is designed to do: dig the meaning of existence and elevate us to a reality that can’t be perhaps seen with our eyes but can be perceived with our higher senses. Aristotle, on the contrary, seemed too pragmatic, boxy even. Confined in his world view where everything could be explained in physical terms, the message appeared stripped of his predecessor’s depth. But one thing I was still able to appreciate. His ability to pursue a rational approach and inspire virtuosity through tangibility.
