Unrealistic thought experiments can be mind-expanding precursors to practical brainstorming. In that spirit, I have described a number of thought experiments. Today? What if guns were outlawed.
After yet another rash of urban “gun violence,” the government rushed through a law that banned owning a gun. Passage was accelerated by the lobbying of squeaky-clean proxies for black marketeers.
Immediately, said marketeers blanketed zip codes that had high percentages of legal gun ownership, offering residents premium prices to buy their guns, which of course, the marketeers immediately resold at a big profit to the myriad people who wanted to prevent home invasion and the like, whether or not the gun was legal.
