In parallel with my long-term product-enginering-operations leadership career and the considerable time I spent as a management consultant, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to a number of not-for-profit organizations. I’ve been a formal and informal advisor on matters digital and business, a cofounder, served on boards/committees both in general (eg director) and specific roles (eg secretary), been co-opted to subcommittees (typically audit-risk), and worked on forming and funding projects and initiatives involving multiple service delivery partners (eg government, NFP, industry). I’ve been on the other side too — a senior representative of or strategic advisor to a corporate partner who wants to select and engage NFPs with whom they share a sense of mission, helping them achieve their objectives.
