The mission of this publication is to raise the voices of women and recently I started to wonder if we were limiting ourselves a little by thinking only about what you amazing writers were creating on this platform.
We used to have a section in the bar above for ‘Self Promotion’ and while it was a great idea it didn’t take off.
Well now I’m rebranding it and I’ll like to hear about the books you’ve written and importantly, the books you’ve read. I don’t mean your most recent Kindle Unlimited book boyfriend, though anyone who knows me IRL will smile because I have a fair few of those. No, I’m looking for the books either written by women or the books that have inspired your womanhood journey.
Think about the last fiction book you read in which you met a character you identified with or saw a life situation unfold and it gave you answers to questions you hadn’t even realised you were asking.
Think about the biographies, the self-help or fascinating non-fiction you’ve read this year which has given you new insight or changed your perspective.
Reading and writing go hand in hand. I often think the chicken and the egg should actually be the reader or the writer, because most of us found a home in words early in life and fell in love with experiences, friends and worlds that we couldn’t reach any other way. Our book diet can reveal a lot about where we are in life… whether that be disappearing into fiction, escaping into futuristic or supernatural world, or soaking up new information as we work on personal growth.
