Tackling My Most Difficult Hike in the Pacific Northwest: Mailbox Peak

Two weeks after essentially christening my Washington residency, I attempted my boldest feat yet: Summiting the Mailbox Peak Trail.

According to AllTrails, it’s a 10.3 mile out-and-back hike with a 4,032 foot gain. Though rated “hard,” I assumed it would be easier than what it appeared to be. After all, my previous hike to Snow Lake was also deemed “hard,” but I accomplished that without any pain or regrets???—???though Mailbox Peak is much higher and longer, but whatever
