I love hostels. But I’ve never, ever stayed in a dorm with strangers. It’s not the strangers I’m concerned about. I’ve always had a private room in a hostel when I travel solo or a 6-bed dorm if I’m with my family.
My dorm bed is a cubby hole – the middle one of a triple-decker. It’s a normal length but the height is a little less than 2 feet. I can’t sit up at all not even to get in and out. I haven’t figured out how I’m going to get out.
I’ve been in bed for maybe an hour and my lower back is protesting. The mattress is unforgiving.
