If the previous week’s Blue Beetle was any indication, DC wasn’t afraid to senselessly kill off their new characters for this crossover. We get a second one this issue.

We open with the Manhunters gathered to discuss their current plans against the immortals, the heroes, and the Chosen, with a plan to attack each of the Chosen now. The Grandmaster declares their victory in Salima Branizar’s death (in the aforementioned Blue Beetle) even if some of his faithful understand they have nothing to do with it. Meanwhile, smarter Manhunters are wielding their influence over the public, buying off a newswoman to cast doubt on any stories against them and in favor of the Guardians. They also get to the President and convince him to release a message calling for the heroes to end their gathering at the Green Lantern Citadel.
