On the 10th of August of this year, HashiCorp decided to change its source code license from Mozilla Public License v2.0 (MPL 2.0) to the Business Source License (BSL, also known as BUSL) v1.1 on all future releases of HashiCorp products. Nevertheless, HashiCorp APIs, SDKs, and almost all other libraries will remain MPL 2.0. The same day, Hashicorp and AWS have concluded a partnership.

Among the survivor in this open source war are Pulumi, Atlantis and Crossplane. GitLab’s CEO (through Open Core Ventures) have spoken. The open-source community have all spoken. Most joined OpenTf initiative keeping Terraform open-source.
