There is a reason why you don’t hear French well
And it has to do with the way babies learn languages.
That’s actually a fascinating process. It was discovered that babies actually learn language by doing statistics. Because the first obstacle in their way is actually discerning words. If I were to speak to you, I would be using words, like discerning, obstacle, right, now….
But if you don’t speak English at all, you cannot recognize those words. Not only can you not recognize them, but you’re not capable to hear where words begin and end either.
