On June 29, 2023, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) formally rejected affirmative action at colleges and universities. Affirmative action has played a critical role in helping correct racial injustices and inequalities by ensuring equitable access to higher education for Black, Latinx, and underrepresented communities.
