Two days ago when the DoorDash app was slow, I stopped off for lunch while waiting for the next dash. And just as I sat down with my meal, the phone finally pinged. Recognizing that the restaurant from which I would pick up is a place that often doesn’t have the food ready when I arrive, I decided to accept the offer and finish my meal before doing the delivery.
If a dasher delivers to a client more than 10 minutes late, the app will give him (or her) a contract violation — a red flag you can see on your phone when you log onto the ratings tab. I was not late enough to get that contract violation. But a funny thing happened after that delivery. I did not get one job offer for 9 consecutive hours while the app was open and I was waiting.
