Denver, Colorado — In a week marked by heightened tension and growing concerns, Denver city officials have carried out two sweeps of a migrant encampment located at 51st and Emerson streets. These actions come as part of a broader effort to enforce the camping ban on Denver-owned park property and have ignited discussions about the challenges posed by increasing migrant arrivals in the city.
The first of the two sweeps occurred last week, followed by a second operation on Wednesday, which was a collaborative effort involving rangers and the Denver Police Department. During these sweeps, the city provided services, shelter, and storage options for the occupants of the tents.
