Prior to coming to Mexico City, once of the areas I was most nervous about was cultural differences, particularly at work. Although I had never worked in Mexico, my business Spanish class in college had taught me certain preconceptions about Mexican work culture. For example:
- Mexican workplaces are very conservative. You need to come to work in heels, makeup, and a dress every day.
