Do I Have the Courage to Speak My Truth and Shine My Light?

Senior moments: That time, I was looking all over the house for my glasses that were perched atop my head — that’s hilarious. That’s a senior moment, as well as all those times I found myself standing in a room wondering why the hell I went in there.

It’s healthy to make fun of ourselves, but young people have forgetful moments, too. So let’s not overdo it and become the butt of our own senior moment jokes.

I am redefining “senior moment.”

It’s not a lapse in memory — it’s an awakening. It’s when you decide you’re not a walking, talking old-age stereotype. You’re not a cute little old man or a sweet old lady.
