Recently, I was asked the age-old question, “Beatles or Stones?” I’ve always taken the middle ground with questions like this and replied, “It’s a preference, not a contest.”
But it reignited my curiosity about John Lennon’s 1970 Rolling Stone interview in which he aired his grievances about Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones, and the underground press.
I re-read the interview, and it left me with more questions than answers.
