Bangkok Rooftop Reality

I did not really know what to expect of Bangkok. I have seen the Hangover — watched plenty of Mark Wiens exploring the street food, and spent years scrolling past my friends’ rooftop instaposts.

It was finally my turn. Flight to BKK — and I start my story with my last night before I fly home; I had to make it to a rooftop.

My local friend suggested we don’t go to THE hangover rooftop bar, as there are plenty to choose from. So we step into a tuk-tuk, and off we go.

To my surprise, there were hazmat suits and instructions to get our identification out and pay $5 for a quick antigen test to get upstairs. Quite a buzzkill, to say the least — but we did it. Once we were declared ‘healthy,’ we could get into the dedicated lift up to the 47th floor.
