Taking a deep breath, I thought back over all the different conditions I had encountered throughout my years of teaching: autism, ADHD, mobility issues, visual impairments, and a huge swath of anxieties of various scopes and intensities.
But Tourette’s Syndrome… Wow. This was something new.
And honestly, a little scary.
Could I handle this in my college classroom? My fellow teachers of students from preschool through grad school know that leading a class requires focus.
And that’s before adding in the students with different needs.
