Last month, my department head Ingrid headed out of the office abruptly after having received a call.
Her voice was trembling and she sounded extremely worried, as she asked a colleague to catch an Uber to the hospital.
Even though I might not be close to Ingrid, both at work and personally, I was concerned about her. And I wish her well.
Yet, this small part of Ingrid’s emergency reminds me of how much work we should do to prioritize mental health in the workplace.
