Today’s song is “Vancouver”, one of the lucky few songs from the project that was rerecorded in-studio. This is one of the more vanilla-sounding tracks, but that only means that it is solid.
A sad fact about the song is that the original venue it was written for, the beloved Richard’s on Richards, closed down in 2009. A condo now sits in it’s place.
Moments of Interest: This is one of the most quote-unquote boring tracks from the collection, both musically and lyrically. The lyrics are fairly simple; the only interesting thing is that the opening lines are based on those of Rick James’ “Super Freak”, but other than that there isn’t anything much of note here.
