A swamp deer is a species of deer found in the Indian subcontinent. They can be seen only in Central India, North India, and Southwest Nepal. It is the state animal of two Indian states: Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Scientifically, the swamp deer is known as Rucervus duvaucelii.
