“Skrratch Pad Notes ” is a collection of my notes (written & rewritten) from Camps, Courses, Classes and Baithaks (Discussions) I have attended/led over the years. This is the first of the series.
This is a rewritten (pen to keyboard) notes taken by me in the Inaugural Discourse by Swami Advayananda of Chinmaya International Foundation (Chinfo) at their centre in Adi Sankara Nilayam, Veliyanadu — (50kms from Kochi airport). As a longtime student of Chinfo — having done their Basic Vedanta, Advanced Vedanta and Upanishads courses over a period of 3+ years, I felt qualified enough to attend a one week (25–31 December 2018) residential camp on Brahmasutra , a Vedantic Scripture. I started reading through my notes, as I am preparing for my second Brahmastura camp in December 2023. While reading I realised this will be a good primer for anybody who wants to start a journey to understand the theological/ philosophical/Darshanic underpinnings of “Sanatana Dharma” .
