Now isn’t a great time to be an immigrant in the United States. We’re letting families live in unsanitary and exposed tent cities. We’re stopping federal agents from saving migrant lives. The cops are prosecuting immigrants for being victims of police brutality. Politicians are even talking about how they’d just love to shoot pedestrians at the border — if only there weren’t all those pesky murder laws.
Aside from the BUILD THE WALL!!! cohort, who hate everyone with a “weird” name or a “funny” accent, too many natural-born US citizens have no clue about their own passport privilege, citizenship privilege, or what it’s actually like to be an immigrant in this country.
