Every so often I get the question, “You don’t do weddings, do you?” and I’m always a bit surprised by this. Perhaps it’s my own view of photography. So many photographers are specialists. “I’m a wedding photographer. I’m a food photographer. I’m a blablabla photographer.”
Me personally? I’m a visual artist that tells stories through imagery, and I just so happen to use a camera to present my vision to the world. So to this end, I can confidently say, yes. Yes, I’m a wedding photographer. Yes, I’m a food photographer. Yes, I’m a blablabla photographer.
To me, what really matters is, is the project interesting? Is this a story I want to help tell? Is this a project which will get me excited about working on it?
