Ithink we can all agree that looting is bad.
I don’t rejoice when I see it, particularly when it affects small, local businesses. And I have real empathy for any person who has had their life’s work destroyed.
That being said, I find all the recent pearl clutching among some White people on the subject to be a bit rich, shall we say.
How quickly and conveniently we forget about the systematic, centuries long looting of Black wealth that continues to this day.
State sanctioned, organized criminal theft. Billions and billions of dollars, stolen from Black citizens with the backing of the entirety of the U.S. government.
