Like much of the general public, I’ve watched in horror as the facts of Lucy Letby’s crimes have unfolded. Not only is there the sheer number of attempted and successful murders, but this is alongside the frankly unbelievable circumstances, the delayed action by the hospital where Letby worked, and her apparent lack of remorse. There’s nothing about this case that doesn’t make your heart bleed for the families of those babies killed or seriously injured at the hands of Britain’s most prolific child killer. But these aren’t the only families whose lives are forever altered by Letby’s decision to kill.
