This exchange got me imagining how such a visit might go, what might be said, and how these two couples, Pete and Chasten, and Mike and his wife Kelly, might relate to each other.
Certainly, the tone would be one of superficial politeness.
These folks are, after all, practitioners of civility and decorum. Pete and Chasten would welcome the pair from Louisiana warmly, with ear-to-ear smiles and hearty handshakes. (However, it seems far fetched that hugs or kisses would be exchanged at the doorway.)
