Ethics in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Projects in Iraq.

Everything we do concern ethics. An indispensable and integral part of our everyday lives, ethics concern how we conduct our lives in the world around us.

There are however situations where ethics should not only guide our practices but constitute the very the ethos of our work.

This is the case for archaeology and cultural heritage, which concerns not only the past — and the continuity of people and their achievements — but most importantly our own identities. Cultural heritage also concerns our future, both nationally and internationally. Ethics should be at the heart of this field.
