I have attempted to make this work as concise as possible, focusing more on geological events rather than ecological ones. I have tried to define as much vocabulary as possible without overwhelming the reader with scientific terms.
There are two major periods in Earth’s history: the Proterozoic, from the birth of the Earth until 524 million years ago, and the Phanerozoic, from 542 million years ago until the present day. For the sake of understanding and simplicity in the chapters, we will examine the three eras of the former and each system of the latter.
