The largest plant on earth is actually in the sea in Western Australia. A sea grass meadow in Shark Bay astounded researchers in 2022.
After conducting genetic testing, researchers realize that the meadow is actually a single plant, Posidonia australis, that has cloned itself.
The plant is also one of the oldest — it is at least 4,500 years old based on its size.
