In answer to a question about the cause of the Civil War, Haley offered up a word salad replete with every GOP, “conservative,” and right-wing media talking point she could think of. Her answer included obfuscation, distraction, avoidance of the question, and re-direction back to the questioner, whom she later accused of serving as a “Democrat plant.”
Haley’s demeanor, though, first displayed an unsettling nervousness, a resentment even, and genuine surprise that anyone would put such a “hard” question to her — a former governor and UN ambassador.
