For the past several years I’ve been writing about the ‘Twilight Zone’ reality spreading across the U.S. : a creepy, inhumane ‘reality’ that’s usurping and undermining everything we hold dear. It’s destroying crucial, irreplaceable things like trust, honor, compassion, honesty, social progress, and conscience.
Somehow, I kept expecting these divisive and destructive trends to turn around — or at least lessen. But today I have to admit: I was wrong.
I thought the American people would come to their senses, see through all the Trumpian BS inundating the U.S., and dump Trump unceremoniously onto the ash heap of history. I was sure that, by now, Americans would have soured on Trump, and gotten totally fed up with all his lies, his petulant ego, his racism, and his paranoia.
