When she was in elementary school, her same-age friends would carry her around like a doll. I don’t think they ever minded their small stature — in fact, I think being petite is now part of their identity.
Just before she turned 11, my child came out as genderfluid. They requested they/them pronouns and went on a gender-bender, exploring multiple identities before landing where she is now — using “she/they” and telling people she “doesn’t care” about which pronouns they use. You’ll notice I weave she and they throughout my stories about her, by design.
