The Mesha Stele or Moabite Stone was discovered in about 1868. The Mesha Stele is yet another testament to the reliability that the Bible is historical. The stone and inscription was first discovered by bedouins in the area in about 1868. They informed Frederick Augustus Klein who was an Anglican missionary. After much struggle a squeeze (copy of text) and translation of the stone was made. It is now in the Louve museum. It is dated to the 9th century BCE.
