Some districts in Paris are quite poor.
Our hotel was in such a neighborhood. I wouldn’t book a hotel room in that area again. But it was cheap.
Getting to our hotel was a struggle on its own. It was above a French pub, and it was full of drunk people who didn’t speak a word of English, and we needed to get our keys. In the end, the hotel owner opened a vague door somewhere, and we were able to get in.
