The side of Spain that too few see

Rising rents across major cities in Spain continue to devour a greater chunk of stagnated salaries while temporary contracts —almost 90% of new contracts in 2021 were non-permanent — are the antithesis of stability. The spin-off effects are evident: more people live with their parents longer, they get married later, and have children at an age which would previously have been considered closer to grand-parenthood(if they decide to have children at all).

Meanwhile, the liquidity of Banco de Mom and Pop— prime contributors to many a deposit — is diminishing drastically. Future generations are going to have to fend for themselves until illiquid assets such as the family home are passed down.
