Having studied in Hong Kong for my undergraduate degree, I was privileged to interact with the educated and open-minded student population in Hong Kong. However, upon looking to move out of my university, I had first-hand experience with the racist attitudes of HK landlords towards potential tenants who are ethnic minorities. Once they ask about my nationality, they ping me with the impending question of “do you like to cook curry”, whilst I am typing “no, I don’t plan on cooking curry” just at the tip of my fingers.
This one particular landlord had a very interesting bio (of course I couldn’t help but be curious as to what kind of things this racist person puts out there to represent herself).
