A vast amount of physical and online literature preaches the benefits of adopting and implementing a comprehensive testing approach to any software development process, but incorporating a thorough testing strategy to a small or medium-sized company may present obstacles that are not easy to overcome.

Part of my job as a software development teacher at the university of applied sciences, KEA (Copenhagen School of Design and Technology) consists in being in touch with software development companies in the Copenhagen area, so that we align our school curriculum with actual industry practices. Denmark being startup heaven, most of the enterprises we communicate with are small or medium-sized (SMEs).
