Berlin Startup Scholarship: The Ultimate Guide

The Berlin Startup Scholarship (Berliner Startup Stipendium, short: BSS) provides financial and infrastructural support for early-stage startups in Berlin. Funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) as well as the state of Berlin (Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises), it aims to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the city.

Each scholarship includes a monthly stipend of 2,200 € per person for 6 to 12 months (depending on the project partner). In addition to the financial support, each scholarship includes the use of infrastructure like workspaces, meeting rooms, prototyping facilities, and business support services. The scholarship is also open to international teams, but as a minimum requirement, every team member has to be registered in Berlin and work full-time on the idea. Also, before joining the program no significant funding and economic activity related to the project is allowed.
