Li Keran (March 26, 1907 — December 5, 1989), formerly known as Li Yongshun, was a native of Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. He was an outstanding painter and poet in modern China and a disciple of the painter Qi Baishi.
Li Keran loved painting since he was a child and learned to paint landscapes when he was 13 years old.
At the age of 43, he became a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. At the age of 49, in order to revolutionize landscape painting, he traveled tens of thousands of miles to sketch.
